Conference System Active Optical Cable FAQs
Q:Can one USB-C cable connect my display and camera while charging my laptop?
A:Yes, with a compatible host, room system or dock, and cable. All must support the required video, USB data and charging functions together. Confirm the target video mode, data speed and charging power at the selected length. If one connection cannot meet those requirements, consider separate video and USB links.
Q:Why does my USB-C cable transfer data but not display video?
A:USB-C describes the connector, not every supported function. A DisplayPort Alt Mode connection requires compatible support from the host port, cable and display side. A “10Gbps” specification on an optical cable describes data capability; it does not by itself confirm display-video support.
Q:Will a Phoossno cable work with my conference or industrial camera?
A:Compatibility depends on the exact device, connection mode, cable model and length. Device detection alone does not confirm the required video mode, controls or power. Identify the host, camera and intermediate equipment, then test the intended workflow. Another manufacturer's support for its own accessories does not certify third-party cables.
Q:Why does my conference camera connect but not deliver 4K?
A:Check the camera's supported output modes, the negotiated USB speed, and whether the conferencing application supports and enables 4K. Intermediate docks or hubs may also limit the connection. Successful device detection is only the first step; the camera, connection and software must all support the target mode.
Q:Can I run an optical cable through walls or conduit?
A:First verify the cable's documented suitability for the installation location and applicable building requirements. Check connector clearance, conduit bends, minimum bend radius and pulling limits. A detachable design may simplify a narrow route, but follow its model-specific installation instructions. Test the connection before installation.
