Pure Fiber DP 1.4 AOC is our new Audio/Video cable , HD signal transmission depending on optical fiber, not only its support length become much longer (above 100m), but also signal quality is much more stable, no EMI completely, especially can support 8.1Gbps bandwidth per channel, 32Gbps total.Support 8K, meets DP1.4 Standard, It is a mature & competitive solution in the high speed date transmission market .This optical fiber cable can be applicated to computer with DP interface, Displays outdoor, LED signboards in streets / stadiums and Security System, that transfer audio video signal.
I'm currently using a Alienware AW3423DWF along with a 4090 RTX. I'm able to get the full 165hz at 8Bit, ( 10bit is not available at 165Hz) or if you lower to 120Hz you can get 10bit. Which I'll switch now and then when I'm grading video.
If you have this monitor do NOT get the HDMI version of this cable. If you check the monitor specs HDMI only supports 120Hz via HDMI. It will not give you 165Hz even with a 2.0 HDMI. Its just not supported for some reason unless they remedy that with a future firmware update. So far only DP will get you 165.
The heads of each end does get a little warm as others say, but so far I have not had any issues. The cable itself is surprisingly VERY flexible and I've routed it through a few corners in my office without issue. Highly recommend!
So far this cable works great for me, 20 meters (65 feet) I could easily put my computer across the room and I would still have cable left over! It's great to have the extra reach, my computer puts out a fair amount of heat so now I don't have to put it under the desk were it will blow hot air on my legs. I can put it almost anywhere.
It works fine with great picture quality on my 4k 60hz monitor, it should be able to handle higher resolutions and frame rates, but this is the fastest monitor I have right now.
Keep in mind that this cable has a "source" and "display" end. It's clearly marked on the connector, just hook it up the right way around or it won't work.
One other thing about this cable is that the connectors are about the same size as my normal displayport cables and the fiber optic cable is a bit thinner and more flexible making it easier to route.
I've previously used this companies USB 3 fiber optic extension cables which worked very well, so I have no problem recommending them.
