Conference Rooms & Hybrid Meetings

PHOOSSNO / Conference Rooms & Hybrid Meetings

HDMI & USB Optical Cable Solutions for Conference Rooms

Put the display, camera and room PC where the meeting needs them. Plan each cable around its job: video to the screen, USB data to the camera, or a compatible USB-C connection at the table.

Equipment rack-to-desktop terminal connections

Equipment rack and meeting table terminals with managed cabling — application illustration

Route supported video and peripheral links between rack-mounted equipment and the meeting table. Use accessible connection points and under-table cable management. Identify each terminal’s protocol; network or PoE terminals need their own appropriate connection.

Confirm the exact variant and length. USB-C video mode and available power require a configuration-specific check.

04 / How to choose

Specify the room before specifying the cable

Record both endpoints

List laptop or room PC, camera, dock, display and any switch or hub. Include the port used on each device.

Define the required format

Record display resolution and refresh rate, camera USB mode and the functions needed simultaneously. Higher nominal cable bandwidth does not upgrade an endpoint.

Measure the installed route

Include under-table runs, wall routes, rack access and service loops. Check plug dimensions before choosing conduit or furniture openings.

Check power and installation

Confirm camera power and laptop charging demand. Select the required jacket rating and respect the model’s bend radius and pulling limits.

05 / Typical challenges & benefits

Resolve the issues that interrupt a meeting

The PC is too far from the screen

A suitable HDMI AOC provides a candidate for the longer fixed display run. Qualify the actual resolution and refresh rate before the route is enclosed.

The camera disconnects

Check power, USB mode, hub sharing and cable direction. Test camera video and audio together, including restart and reconnect behavior.

Guests expect a single USB-C connection

Agree which functions the room supports and label the connection clearly. Validate the dock, laptop and cable combination rather than promising universal compatibility.

The cable route is difficult to service

Plan accessible connector ends and strain relief. Route the cable without crushing it under furniture or applying load to the plug.

06 / Frequently asked questions

Distance, meeting interruptions and serviceable cabling

The camera and display are far from the room PC. What should we measure?

Measure the complete installed route, including cabinet entry, ceiling or wall routing and service loops. Select video and USB links separately by their supported mode and length. Check connector clearance, device power and any intermediate hubs or adapters.

How can we troubleshoot camera dropouts or black screens during meetings?

First identify whether the interruption affects USB devices, display video or the network call. Check power and connectors, then test a direct connection without optional hubs or adapters. Verify the required camera mode and display format before rebuilding the full chain.

How can we reduce cable clutter on the meeting table?

Use an accessible table connection point and an under-table cable tray, with the room PC or dock positioned for service access. A full-feature USB-C connection can simplify the user connection only when the laptop, cable and dock support the needed video, data and power together.

Concealed cables are difficult to replace. How should we plan installation?

Use an accessible conduit or serviceable route with adequate space for connector passage. Check bend and pulling limits, provide access points and a draw cord where appropriate, and label both ends. Test the complete link before closing walls or ceilings.

How do we check that the room will work reliably before a meeting?

Test the intended laptops and room PC with camera, microphone, display and touch functions active. Include switching presenters, sleep and wake, reconnection and restart. Record the working configuration and keep an accessible fallback connection.

Conference System Active Optical Cable FAQs

Q:Can one USB-C cable connect my display and camera while charging my laptop?

A:Yes, with a compatible host, room system or dock, and cable. All must support the required video, USB data and charging functions together. Confirm the target video mode, data speed and charging power at the selected length. If one connection cannot meet those requirements, consider separate video and USB links.

Q:Why does my USB-C cable transfer data but not display video?

A:USB-C describes the connector, not every supported function. A DisplayPort Alt Mode connection requires compatible support from the host port, cable and display side. A “10Gbps” specification on an optical cable describes data capability; it does not by itself confirm display-video support.

Q:Will a Phoossno cable work with my conference or industrial camera?

A:Compatibility depends on the exact device, connection mode, cable model and length. Device detection alone does not confirm the required video mode, controls or power. Identify the host, camera and intermediate equipment, then test the intended workflow. Another manufacturer's support for its own accessories does not certify third-party cables.

Q:Why does my conference camera connect but not deliver 4K?

A:Check the camera's supported output modes, the negotiated USB speed, and whether the conferencing application supports and enables 4K. Intermediate docks or hubs may also limit the connection. Successful device detection is only the first step; the camera, connection and software must all support the target mode.

Q:Can I run an optical cable through walls or conduit?

A:First verify the cable's documented suitability for the installation location and applicable building requirements. Check connector clearance, conduit bends, minimum bend radius and pulling limits. A detachable design may simplify a narrow route, but follow its model-specific installation instructions. Test the connection before installation.
